Many of you are travelling a long distance to join us in London; your presence is all the gift we need. However, if you’d still like to contribute, we’d be honoured by any donations to one of these charities.
Further information
We look forward to seeing you and celebrating with us. If you have any questions in the meantime, please do drop us a line.

We will be having a Catholic wedding ceremony. This can be a long service – please feel free to find a spot near the back or at the end of a pew if you might need to slip out. (We won’t be offended!)
If you’d prefer not to attend the wedding service, there is a pub called the Princess of Prussia a hundred yards down the street. We will be walking past on the way to the reception and will gladly scoop you up en route.
It is a 7-minute walk from the church to our reception venue. Please add a note to your RSVP if you would like a taxi between the venues, and we’ll make sure you have one ready and waiting.
Wilton’s accessibility and facilities information is on their website. Our wedding breakfast and dancing will be on the ground floor. There will be a quiet room upstairs if you need a break during the reception. There will also be a jar of earplugs in the foyer.
If you would like a walkthrough of what will happen on the day, or have any other questions or needs, please do let us know in your RSVP.

Aside from the Wilde Aparthotel, there are plenty of places to stay nearby, including directly opposite English Martyrs – enter ‘Tower Hill’ or ‘Aldgate East’ to find options. It is a spring weekend in London so we recommend booking early if you want somewhere within walking distance!
-
We are only able to accomodate those named on the invitation.
-
If you are RSVPing for guests under 12, please do let us know their age so we can make sure they have some age-appropriate things to enjoy on the day.
They’re very welcome in the church and at the reception. If you think they’d prefer to play, however, there will be childcare with games and activities, including a food option for those who may not enjoy a long formal dinner.

Apparently, it is not helpful to say “we’ve all been to weddings before, you know the score.” So: Lounge suits, but noting that we’re going straight from church to a music hall, so bright colours and sparkles are definitely on the table.
But seriously, we’ve all been to weddings before. You know the score.
-
There will be free drinks served throughout the day and evening.

We have the outdoor tables, with heaters and a telly showing Paris-Roubaix, booked at Vermutaria in King’s Cross from 1pm on Sunday 12th. There’ll be some snacks and they sell food if you want to order a proper lunch.
Attendance is very much optional – if you have other things to do, or are travelling to London and want to make the most of being in the city, please do your thing!
Dress code is casual including Lycra for those coming back from a morning ride. The nearest station is King’s Cross-St Pancras and there are bike hooks.

A few of you have asked if we’re changing our names, and we know there are some votes for adopting ‘Bope.’
Sadly, we will remain Conor Pope and Stephanie Boland. If you’re feeling fancy, we use Mr and Dr or Ms.
Note one ‘n’ in ‘Conor’ and one ‘l’ in ‘Boland.’ Especially if you’ve known us for absolutely ages. Naming no names. (As it were.)
-
You may take as many photos you like as long as you share them with us! Please tag @popeconor if you’re sharing on Instagram.
The only time we ask you to please refrain is in church. After that, go wild.

We realise many of you won’t have been to a Catholic wedding, so here’s a quick primer.
There will be responses which everyone says. These will be printed in a booklet on the day.
Because we are having a service without mass, there will not be communion. You may see people performing rituals such as crossing themselves with holy water on the way in and kneeling or bowing towards the altar before they enter the pews. Please be reassured there’s no need to do any of this if you’re not an observant Catholic.
Be reassured, too, that we will not be upset by kids making noise in church or guests of any age inexplicably getting the giggles, both of which are as much a part of the Catholic wedding service as veils and rings.
If and only if you wish to contribute during the collection, please bring cash.
-
We recommend getting the tube to Aldgate East or Whitechapel, or the DLR to Shadwell. Please note that the roads around Tower Hill will be busy on a Saturday afternoon. If you are opting for a cab, leave plenty of time. Public transport will be faster.

Please send any questions in the foreseeable to Steph on 07590 455 181 or Con on 07745 644 948.
We will not be able to respond on the day itself – we will share contact details nearer the time for any last-minute urgent questions!
